Facelift Boston: Pathway to a Smoother, Firmer face

The natural aging process, combined with exposure to sun and stress, can cause the skin to sag and loosen around the face, neck, and jaw.  Although this is a gradual process, wrinkles and other signs of aging often make a person appear older than they really feel.  The facelift, or rhytidectomy procedure is designed to smooth and firm the face and neck to restore a more rested and youthful appearance.  To schedule a free facelift consultation at our Boston office, call  617-123-1234.

A facelift tightens the skin of the face and neck and eliminates excess fat.  At our Boston practice, facelifts are often combined with other procedures to achieve maximum results.  While a facelift may be performed at the first sign of aging, patients are usually in their forties or older before electing this procedure.

Reasons for Considering a Facelift:

  • Reverse the effects of aging.
  • Reverse the effects of sun damage.
  • Tighten sagging skin on the face and neck.
  • Correct a sagging jaw line.
  • Eliminate creases along the nose, mouth, and chin.

The Face Lift Procedure

A facelift involves making an incision just inside the hairline following the contour of the face from in front of the ear under the earlobe, to the lower scalp.  Skin and fat tissue are then separated, the skin is drawn back, with excess skin removed.  Tiny, super-small sutures are then strategically placed to reduce the chances of visible scarring.

At our Boston practice, a facelift generally requires two hours or longer, depending upon whether or not additional procedures are performed in chorus.  With several different procedures to choose from, each surgery is tailored to meet each individual’s needs and desired outcome.
